Caminito Del Rey
Caminito means walkway in Spanish. It was built between 1901 and 1905 to allow people working on the hydro-electric network to get to work every day, as well as bringing supplies. The Caminito del Rey route is spectacular from beginning to end, running through cli s, canyons, and a large valley. It crosses the landscapes of Des ladero de los Gaitanes, a gorge carved out by the river Guadalhorce, with walls 700 metres high.

It is forti ed historic village that dates back to the 13th century. The old town has stunning views over the Guadarranque reservoir and, on a clear day, Gibraltar and the mountains of Africa in the distance. You can take a walk along the cobbled streets of Oldtown Castellar and discover some of the oldest Andalusian tradition. A collection of local artists and crafts people running small shops so if you are fun of the hand made products it is denitely worth looking at this small town.
